Cool Springs Park. Help is requested in identifying the welcoming Cathell member. Cool Springs Park is at the foot of the climb up Laurel Mountain. It was opened by Mr. and Mrs Harland Castle in the late 1940's and it is still in operation today.
1957 or 1958-Cool Springs Park. The Cathell offereing up the fried chicken is Bill Cathell, son of Joseph H. Cathell. Bill was a B&O engineer from Keyser WV and grew plums which he often brought to reunions. The lady with white hair is his mother Callie Adams Cathell, wife of Joseph H. Cathell, who is in the shadows behind Bill.
1959 or 1960-Rowlesburg Park? This is Joseph Huvington Cathell (son of Platt M. and Sarah Cathell) and Callie Adams Cathell. "Uncle Joe" could well have been the last surviving son of Platt M. and Sarah Cathell at this time, he would have been in his 90's.
1959 or 1960-Rowlesburg Park? Stewart A. Cathell, son of Harry Ervin Cathell loved cake at the reunions.
1962 -Cool Springs Park- Left to right is Gladys Sinclair Cathell (wife of Clarence), her daughter-in-law Dorothy Bernard Cathell (wife of Carl Mitchell Cathell, Sr., son of Clarence and Gladys) their son David Wayne Cathell, Henrietta Sinclair and Arthur Sinclair (brother of Gladys), Clarence Mitchell Cathell (son of George E. who was a son of Platt M. Cathell), Carl M. Cathell, Jr. and Pamela Cathell, daughter of Bobby (son of Clarence and Gladys) and Mabel Cathell. Gerald L. Cathell, Sr. is recognizable in the background.
